Great Minds Thinking Alike

Email Subject: “Party with Kim”
My friends are hilarious. Last night my friend Sarah sent me this picture. That’s “me” on the left. Well, my face anyway and Kim Kardashian on the right.Email Subject: “Kitty Say’s Meow”
A while back, I was debating cutting my hair like Katie Holmes when she had a bob and bangs. I sent my bestie Kimmie a pic of the hair cut and this is what she sent me back.
Good friends are priceless. I love my friends.
An update: Since this post, people have sent me the following pictures. Funny!!!

Pro: Ease of Use

Isn’t it great when things are easy? I created tags for all of my blog posts and linked them to a picture on the right side so that you can click to go directly to certain topics. I hope this makes your browsing experience of the Hello Cupcake blog more pleasant.

Happy Friday!

Makes Me Smile

The picture: Sometimes I’m interviewed by news stations for my job and they always shoot at a strange angle that makes my nose look HUGE! This is a pic of my brother and I having a nose off. Trying to figure out whose nose is bigger. We were cracking up trying to get this picture. In order to get it we just had to keep our eyes closed.

I'm grinning. I love it. This picture makes me really happy.

On my mind:
Can I rearrange the guest room to make my craft space bigger?
How do I balance wearing jewelry on my left writs and not have it clash with my engagement ring?
There are at least 15 shirts in my closet that are unwearable until I iron them. How can I get motivated to iron?
I get to work on a custom card order this evening
Christoph has the night off
What’s for dinner?

Sticker Shock

It’s Monday and I don’t think I’ve fully recovered from the realization of how much it is going to cost to plan a wedding. Seriously, I would love to know what these people do for a living that they can afford these lavish weddings.

On a more positive note, I went online and found one of those questionnaires that you and your fiancé can fill out to figure out the wedding priorities. I printed out two copies, one for me, one for him and we worked on it separately. Surprisingly enough, we were almost dead on! Although he listed attire as a 4 and I gave it a 7. But my absolute favorite part was this question:

What do you want to remember most about your wedding?

He wrote:
“The ceremony”
I wrote: “How much fun we all have”

I’m so lucky to be marrying such an amazing man.

* Reading wedding magazines with Ginger
* Wedding magazine explosion!

How’s the Wedding Planning?

It has been over a month now (39 days actually) since Christoph and I got engaged and there hasn’t been a day to go by without someone asking me how the wedding planning is coming.

Well……I haven’t done anything!

So today, I had lunch with a co-worker friend of mine that is getting married next month for a kick in the pants to get me started.

This is my problem:
Me: “I think I am going to have a hard time managing expectations”

This is her solution:
Friend: “Get over that shit.”

Love that! Just what I needed to hear. Let the wedding planning begin!

Wednesday

Thinks that are making me happy today.

My life
My lunch
Pausing for a moment to take in the view
And the word “Fab”.

A Mission Fulfilled

This morning, someone came to the office with something wonderful in tow. They had come across dozens of flowers that had been placed outside for trash pick up. I’m guessing this was either at a grocery store, the flower mart, or maybe even the farmers market (they vend on Tuesdays). Some of the flowers were a little wilted, but all in all, they are so beautiful.

You can imagine how great it was to have all of these flowers in the office today. An email was sent around to let people know that they were available for the taking. Nearly every woman in the office has a beautiful bouquet of flowers on their desk!

It reminds me of that episode of Friends where Joey takes a job at the Christmas tree lot and Phoebe is horrified to learn that they destroy the trees that aren’t sold in time. I am helping these flowers fulfill their mission to spread joy.

These have absolutely brightened my day.

2010 Resolutions Progress

Back in January I set myself three goals or resolutions for 2010. They were:

Resolution #1: Learn how to sew and incorporate that into Hello Cupcake

I did learn how to sew. I took a class, watched a few youtube videos and played around with my sewing machine. So far I’ve made two dresses, some stuffed animal toys for Ginger, a pillow of Ginger, a collar for Ginger and some other small projects. Is it weird that I’ve made so many things for my Dog? I think it’s safe to say that I can check this one off. I’m not really planning to incorporate this into Hello Cupcake anymore. I’ve had a new vision on how to brand my crafts and so far my ETSY shop has been doing better!

Resolution #2: Participate in a craft show
I’m signed up for my very first show! Yeah!

Indie-Mart http://www.indie-mart.com/
July 18th from 12-6 PM
Thee Parkside- 17th st & all down Wisconsin

I am in the process of creating new designs and building up inventory.

Resolution #3: Practice Bikram Yoga
My goal was 2-3 times per week. Right now I’m going around 5X’s per month. It’s safe to say that this one has not been met yet.

All in all, I’m pretty happy about my progress in keeping with my resolutions! I still have half a year left!
