Ring in the New Year!

I've picked out my fancy party dress. The invitations have been sent and the menu has been set! We are just a few days away from ringing in 2012!This will be our third annual New Year's Eve party. It's without a doubt my favorite party that we throw every year (and I LOVE to play hostess so we have lots of parties!!!!).This year I decided to create a San Francisco skyline for the invitation and add a few red fireworks in the sky since guests will be able to take in the San Francisco skyline and fireworks at the party!

These have been added to my Etsy shop and can be customized for your next event!

Whatever you have lined up, hope you have a festive New Years Eve!!!!

PS: Thats not my real address or info...

Merry & Bright

It’s hard to believe just how quickly this year has been passing us by!

Much like last year, I’ll be spending the holidays around Big Bear Lake with my family. It’s exactly what I need to recharge after the busiest year of my life. I’m not bringing my computer, instead, I’ll be spending my time baking, sledding, sleeping in, playing board game, laughing a lot and sewing!!!!!! I’m planning to work on projects that I haven’t had time to get to over the past few months. Get ready for some exciting Fashionably Made posts in the New Year!!!

I’m saddened that Christoph has to work over Christmas, but I understand and because he is working, his coworkers with young children will be with their families. I’ll miss you babe!

Whatever you do and whatever you celebrate, I hope it’s filled with peace, joy, love, health and happiness!

DIY Andy Warhol Inspired Prints

Over a year ago, I took a screen printing class at Workshop SF. Actually, let me clarify, it was a screen and sew pet pillow class! I took a picture of Ginger, it was turned into a screen and then I copied it on to fabric and made a pillow! The end result of the class

Before trying to screen print on the fabric, I did some trials on computer paper to get the feel of working with screens. At the end of the class, I had an awesome pillow and a few screen print pictures of Ginger on paper.I wish I could take credit for the next part, but this was actually Christoph’s great idea! We made copies and of the print and turned them into our very own Andy Warhol inspired art. They’re hanging in our living room and I just LOVE them!

No big orders in the pipeline, the 12 Days of DIY Giveaways winding down. For a second I thought this would be a slower week and then……the ultimate, huge, huge, huge opportunity came up! I can’t quite spill the beans yet, but as soon as I can, you’ll be one of the first to know.

In other news, I found the perfect dress for the holidays! It’s this Theory dress in black velvet fabric. Amazing.

Living, Learning and Selling Like Hotcakes

craft fair table set up hello cupcakeThis past weekend I participated in the Tea House Studio’s Holiday Fair! This was only my second time to do a craft fair where I was selling Hello Cupcake goods. If you remember, this is how my very first fair went.craft fair table set up hello cupcakeI learned a lot from my first fair and was able to put a lot of new ideas into motion.

I loved the way my new set up looked. Clean, consistent with the look and feel of Hello Cupcake items and much, much more professional than my last tabletop.craft fair table set up hello cupcakeI had a great time, met some amazing new friends and…..I sold lots of stuff!!!!!!! This fair also gave me some more confidence in my goods and I think next year I’m really going to set my sights high and go for one of the larger two day fairs like Renegade or Bizarre Bizarre.craft fair table set up hello cupcake then and nowThen vs. now :)

I’ll keep you posted. As always, thanks for all of your support as I continue on this journey in small business ownership. What an amazing ride!

What A Week!

Happy Friday!

I don’t think I’ve ever been as busy as I was this week – even the week before my wedding wasn’t this busy. I know that sounds like crazy talk, but it’s true.

Between the 12 Days of DIY Giveaways project for A Savvy Event, my full time nonprofit job and the 30 minute TV program I helped produce this week and planning for a craft fair to sell Hello Cupcake goods i’m spent!

So much so that I think I’m going to have to miss out on both my company holiday party and Christoph’s fancy company holiday party this weekend. I just have too much to do! And frankly, finishing up on stuff for the fair tomorrow and going to bed before midnight sounds like a party to me.

Hope your week wasn’t quite as busy as mine!

My Holiday Wish List:

holiday wish list creative
While this isn’t the most exciting holiday wish list for some… has got me pretty thrilled.

All I really want for the holidays this year are gifts to help me grow Hello Cupcake LLC! When you think about what these gifts could all lead to, it starts to get pretty exciting!

1. File folders to help me get organized
2. A really cool pen – seriously, a 7 year pen!
3. A fancy file cabinet to organize all my folders
4. A wireless keyboard and mouse
5. A ticket to Alt Summit (already set) to learn some new tricks of the trade!

This year, I’m trading wishes of new pieces of jewelry and shoes for office supplies! This is a first.

What’s on your holiday wish list this year?
