Fashionably MADE: Winter Cape

Lately, I’ve made it my goal to use up the fabric that I currently have in my house before buying more.  As you can imagine, this certainly puts some limitations on what I’m able to make.  I had a yard of flannel fabric that I bought almost two years ago for our engagement pictures.

I decided to turn it into a flannel cape.  I’m not in love with the end result and Christoph said I looked like “little flannel riding hood” when wearing it.  I won’t be spending much time with it outside of the house but it certainly is cozy - you could even say “snuggy-ish” so I guess I’ll be wearing it as a house cape.

Fashionably MADE: DIY Heart Sweater

I love this J.Crew Heart Sweater that I’ve been seeing on fashionable gals around town as of late!  I would love to have this sweater but with the holidays and a few fun vacations on the horizon I’m in save money mode so I decided to try my hand at DIY’ing my own heart sweater!

This project was EXTRIEMELY easy!

 How to DIY J.Crew inspired heart sweater:

Material Needed:

- Solid color sweater

- Piece of felt fabric

- Scissors

- Pins

- Thread & Needle or Sewing machine

How To:

1. Cut out a heart

2. Pin in place

3. Sew it on

Office Progress: The Gallery Wall Art is Up

It has taken me a good six months but I’m happy to report that my office is coming along! I finally collected enough prints and artwork to make a gallery wall. With some help from my reluctant husband I was able to get these prints hung in just over an hour (thanks babe!).You’ve probably seen a version or two of the trick to cut out paper the size of your frame and use that as a guide to hang a gallery wall over on pinterest. I tried it and yep, it works.

I love how things are coming along and can’t wait to show you more details of my home as it comes together!

Published: Green Wedding Shoes - Industrial Barn Shoot

I’m so excited to share some pictures of an industrial barn photo shoot that was recently shared on Green Wedding Shoes!  Not only did I do some PR work behind the scenes….but yep, that’s me!  Front and center in the pictures.  My lovely wedding photographer Jessamyn Harris (more of her work here, here) reached out to me to see if I would be interested to model for the shoot and I jumped at the opportunity!

I worked with an amazing team on this shoot and was thrilled to be a part of the final product!
